The Georgia CIO of the Year Awards honor individual technology executives based on the approximate size of the IT organization. The awards are divided into four categories:

  • Global - over 2,500 IT users and multinational operations
  • Enterprise - over 1,000 IT users
  • Corporate - up to 1,000 IT users
  • Public Sector/Non-Profit – not for profit organization, government agency, schools in the public sector

Nominee requirements:

  • Must hold the title of chief information officer or equivalent
  • Employed by a Georgia-based business / non-profit / government entity or oversee a subsidiary based in Georgia
  • Primary responsibility for the performance of the company as it relates to IT infrastructure
  • Must be a member of top management
  • Must have a proven track record of technology leadership
  • Must have held current position prior to 9/30/06

Please note that a completed entry includes a color photo of the nominee (high resolution jpeg, 300 dpi minimum) and a company logo (high resolution .eps file). Candidates must answer ALL questions to avoid disqualification.

Selection Process:

All candidates are judged on innovation and creativity in the planning and deployment of their enterprise systems, future IT goals, management philosophy and service to the industry and community.

Winners in all four categories of the Georgia CIO of the Year Awards are chosen by the official CIO of the Year Awards Selection Committee, which consists of past winners and other Georgia technology leaders. Applicants are judged on their completed application and support materials. All applications are thoroughly reviewed, and up to three finalists are selected from each category. The winner is announced at an awards breakfast ceremony. All finalists must attend the ceremony.
